2027: APM begins presidential primary as Makinde gains support in South-West

The Allied People’s Movement (APM) has commenced its presidential primary election ahead of the 2027 general elections, amid growing political momentum surrounding Oyo State Governor Seyi Makinde.

The exercise follows the successful conduct of the party’s governorship and State House of Assembly primaries held a few days ago.

The presidential primary is taking place at Ogunlesi Hall, opposite the University College Hospital (UCH), Ibadan, Oyo State.

Delegates, party leaders, political stakeholders and supporters from across the country are participating in the exercise.

Officials of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) are present to monitor the process, while security personnel have been deployed to maintain law and order at the venue.

The primary comes amid reports of increasing support for Makinde within the party, particularly from the South-West region, as political parties intensify preparations for the 2027 elections.
