The Lagos State University of Science and Technology (LASUSTECH) has entered into a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the SGH Warsaw School of Economics in Poland to strengthen academic cooperation and international exposure.
The agreement was signed at the SGH campus in Warsaw, marking a key step in LASUSTECH’s drive toward global academic integration, according to a statement issued by the university’s communication unit on Thursday.
Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Olumuyiwa Odusanya, who signed on behalf of LASUSTECH, described the partnership as a significant milestone in the institution’s internationalisation agenda.
“This partnership positions LASUSTECH within an elite global academic network and creates pathways for our students and faculty to benefit from international exposure and collaboration,” Odusanya said.
The Rector of SGH Warsaw School of Economics, Prof. Piotr Wachowiak, signed on behalf of the Polish institution.
The LASUSTECH delegation included the Dean of the College of Applied Social Sciences, Prof. Olumuyiwa Olamade, and Dr. Ayo Eso, who were involved in developing implementation plans during the visit.
According to the statement, the partnership will facilitate student exchange programmes with credit transfer, faculty exchanges, and joint research initiatives.
It will also promote collaboration in areas such as financial inclusion, digital economy research, and access to international academic resources.
The university added that the engagement also provided opportunities to connect with Polish funding bodies and innovation hubs, including the CIC Innovation Hub.
Odusanya said the MoU aligns with LASUSTECH’s IMPACT model and supports the Lagos State Government’s education and development agenda.
He noted that the collaboration would strengthen curriculum development, enhance faculty capacity, and open access to European research funding opportunities, including Horizon Europe programmes.
LASUSTECH described the agreement as part of its broader vision to expand global partnerships and improve academic excellence through international collaboration.
