Ooni welcomes twin princes with Olori Mariam

The Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Ogunwusi, has announced the birth of twin princes with his wife, Olori Mariam Ajibola, to the Royal House of Oduduwa.

The monarch disclosed the development in a post shared on his official Facebook page on Friday.

Expressing gratitude to God, the Ooni said both the mother and the newborn princes are in good health.

“To God be all the glory and adoration for His wondrous works and abundant blessings once again!

“Warmest congratulations to the entire House of Oduduwa and to Olori Mariam Ajibola on the joyous arrival of twin princes to the royal throne of Oduduwa today.

“We give thanks to Almighty God as both mother and children are in good health,” the statement read.

The birth of the twins marks another major addition to the royal household of the revered Yoruba monarch.

Recall that after the collapse of his marriage to Olori Naomi, the Ooni married six queens within a period of about three months in 2022.

The queens include Mariam Anako, Elizabeth Akinmuda, Tobiloba Phillips, Ashley Adegoke, Ronke Ademiluyi and Temitope Adesegun.

Speaking previously during his 48th birthday and seventh coronation anniversary, the monarch explained that his decision to marry multiple wives was influenced by the traditional heritage and customs attached to the throne of Ile-Ife.
