Wike issued the warning during his monthly media briefing in Abuja on Wednesday, insisting that the Turaki-led group lacks legal recognition and cannot legitimately operate as the leadership of the PDP.
Recall that Oyo State Governor, , had reportedly backed the appointment of Turaki as chairman of a 13-member interim National Working Committee, NWC, following the party’s 103rd National Executive Committee meeting held in Abuja.
Turaki had earlier claimed to have assumed leadership of the PDP after the Supreme Court nullified the party’s November 2025 national convention.
Reacting to the development, Wike described the faction’s actions as fraudulent and contrary to democratic principles.
“You cannot disobey court judgments and still claim legitimacy. Nigerians cannot continue to be deceived,” Wike said.
He challenged the faction to publicly open an official PDP bank account for the payment of nomination forms if they truly believe they are the authentic leadership of the party.
According to him, any bank that permits such an account to be opened risks sanctions for aiding what he termed an illegal structure.
“That bank will be in trouble because opening such an account requires authentic party documents and recognised leadership credentials,” he stated.
The FCT minister further warned landlords against allowing their properties to be used as offices for the faction in Abuja.
“If anybody opens an illegal office in the name of the PDP in Abuja, I will seal it. I will not allow any breach of peace in the Federal Capital Territory,” Wike declared.
He added that any property used as a parallel PDP secretariat would be shut down by the authorities.
The latest development further deepens the leadership crisis rocking the opposition party ahead of the 2027 political season.
