Osun 2026: I’ll keep faith with you, Oyebamiji assures residents

The governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Osun State, Bola Oyebamiji, has assured residents that he will not betray their trust if elected into office.

Oyebamiji gave the assurance on Sunday during an engagement with members of the Nigerian Society of Professional Tailors in Osogbo. He was represented at the event by the Chairman of Civic Engagement of the APC Campaign Council, Olatunbosun Oyintiloye.

Addressing the gathering, the APC flagbearer said his recently unveiled seven-point agenda, themed “Prosperity,” would be fully implemented to drive development across the state.

He explained that the blueprint focuses on key areas such as poverty reduction, workers’ welfare, job creation, transparency, economic expansion, security, education, and infrastructure renewal.

“I want to assure you that I will not betray your trust if given the mandate. I am in this race to serve with all my strength and commitment,” he said.

“My seven-point agenda was carefully designed for implementation. It will accelerate growth and reposition Osun for sustainable development. Trust me with your votes, and I will deliver on my promises.”

Oyebamiji also pledged robust support for artisans and small-scale businesses, acknowledging their vital role in the state’s economy.

“You are critical stakeholders in our economic system. Your contributions through your skills are invaluable and will not be overlooked,” he stated.

“A key component of our agenda is to create opportunities for economic growth and provide structured support for small and medium enterprises. This will be pursued vigorously to strengthen your businesses.”

The APC candidate further urged residents to disregard criticisms from opposition parties, claiming that his policy proposals had unsettled political opponents.

“Since the unveiling of our action plan, the opposition has been uneasy. But we remain focused and committed to delivering results,” he added.

In his remarks, Chairman of the association, Rasheed Balogun, commended Oyebamiji for his perceived sincerity and dedication to public service.

Balogun noted that the group had interacted with the APC candidate during his tenure as Commissioner for Finance and acknowledged the recognition the association received through the office of civic engagement at the time.

He declared the support of the association for Oyebamiji’s candidacy, saying, “We are solidly behind you.”
