Addressing supporters shortly after completing the process, Hamzat declared that his ambition had moved from mere intention to full execution, noting that groundwork for his campaign had already begun.
“This marks a new phase of structured mobilisation and political engagement across Oyo State. Work has started,” he said.
Hamzat explained that his decision to join the race, first announced on January 19, 2026, followed consultations with advisers and what he described as divine direction, leading him to contest under the Accord Party.
The aspirant disclosed that part of his early mobilisation strategy included providing logistics support, such as buses, to ease transportation for party members and supporters who attended the event, describing it as a reflection of his preparedness for the contest.
He arrived at the secretariat in the company of a large number of supporters, many of whom pledged to resist any attempt by the current administration to impose a successor in the next governorship election.
Hamzat, widely known for his grassroots appeal through his Agidigbo FM platform and social interventions, was received by party leaders and enthusiastic followers who thronged the venue, chanting solidarity songs.
