Ajakaye made the declaration in a video message shared on Monday via his social media platforms, where he also appealed for the support of leaders and members of the All Progressives Congress, APC.
The media aide, who has served in the administration of Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq since 2019, said his decision followed extensive consultations with key stakeholders across the constituency ahead of the party primaries.
He noted that his entry into the race was informed by engagements with party leaders ahead of the forthcoming primaries. Ajakaye stressed the importance of effective legislative representation, arguing that stronger collaboration between the legislature and executive would improve governance outcomes.
“A state government will achieve more and deliver greater dividends of democracy with the support of quality and credible lawmakers,” he said.
He pledged to provide people-oriented representation, promising to align resources with the needs of constituents and attract development to the constituency.
