Spokesman to Kwankwaso, Habib Saleh Muhammad, disclosed this in an interview on Sunday, saying the move followed extensive consultations with stakeholders across Kano State.
“We held various discussions with stakeholders across all local governments, and it was unanimously agreed that we should move out of the ADC,” he said.
Muhammad attributed the decision to ongoing legal and political disputes within the party, which he said could hinder effective participation in the next election cycle.
“It is because of the continued political, rather legal issues within the party, and also considering the timeframe we have to submit registers and conduct primaries,” he added.
He noted that the internal situation in the party made it difficult for the group to adequately prepare for elections.
“It was agreed that we are going to move to a separate platform so that we can actually run and participate effectively in the 2027 election cycle,” he said.
Muhammad further revealed that Kwankwaso would make an official announcement on the development.
“An official position will be made by our national leader, and it will address everything,” he stated.
