The endorsement was announced on Friday during the 2026 International Workers’ Day celebration in the state.
Speaking on behalf of both unions, the state NLC Chairman, Abdullahi Aliyu Jungle, said the decision was based on the administration’s welfare policies, including the implementation of the N70,000 national minimum wage and regular payment of salaries and pensions.
“You have done nothing wrong to us, and you have been tremendously assisting us in many ways. Therefore, nothing warrants us to ask for a change of government in 2027,” he said.
Jungle commended the government for what he described as improved workers’ welfare and consistency in salary payments.
The unions also presented the governor with an Award of Excellence, describing it as unprecedented in the state.
“This is the first time in the history of NLC/TUC in the state to bestow such an award on any governor,” he added.
Responding, Governor Aliyu, represented by his deputy, Idris Muhammad Gobir, expressed appreciation for the endorsement and assured workers of continued commitment to their welfare.
He noted that the administration had taken steps to reposition the civil service since assuming office in 2023.
Also speaking, the state Head of Service, Abdulkadir Ahmed, urged workers to reciprocate the government’s efforts with dedication and professionalism.
