The meeting, initially scheduled for 4 p.m. at the Council Chamber, commenced around 5 p.m. after it was moved to the Conference Room of the President’s Office.
Among those in attendance are Governor Babagana Zulum of Borno State, Hope Uzodimma of Imo State, Inuwa Yahaya of Gombe State, Hyacinth Alia of Benue State, Biodun Oyebanji of Ekiti State, Peter Mbah of Enugu State, and AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq of Kwara State. Some states are also being represented by their deputy governors.
As of the time of filing this report, the agenda of the meeting has not been officially disclosed.
The development comes barely 24 hours after President Tinubu held a separate closed-door meeting with the leadership of the Senate, where lawmakers said “far-reaching decisions” were taken on issues described as being of urgent national importance.
