In a statement issued by Captain Muyiwa Ayara on behalf of the 14 Brigade, the Army said the exercise is part of activities marking the 82 Division Corporals and Below Competition 2026.
The training will take place on April 22, 2026, at the Goodluck Ebele Jonathan Shooting Range, running from 12:00 noon to 11:00 pm.
According to the Army, the exercise is routine and designed to improve operational efficiency, marksmanship, and combat readiness of participating soldiers.
Residents were advised not to panic at the sound of gunfire, as all activities will be conducted in a controlled and secure environment.
The Army also urged members of the public to stay away from the shooting range, avoid unauthorised movement in the area, and comply with all instructions from military personnel.
