Speaking during a weekly press briefing, Foreign Ministry spokesman Esmaeil Baqaei pointed to a reported US attack on an Iranian cargo ship, the continued naval blockade on Iranian ports, and delays in implementing a ceasefire in Lebanon as signs that Washington is undermining diplomatic efforts.
According to Baqaei, such actions contradict US claims of readiness for negotiations.
His remarks come despite indications from US President Donald Trump that American negotiators were expected to travel to Pakistan for another round of talks with Iran.
However, Iran said it has not confirmed participation in any new negotiations.
“As of now, we have no plans for the next round of negotiation,” Baqaei said.
He also ruled out any discussion about transferring Iran’s enriched uranium to the United States, saying the option has never been considered by Tehran.
The comments underscore continued tensions despite ongoing efforts to revive diplomacy and sustain the fragile ceasefire.
