Speaking at an event in Las Vegas, Trump said Iran had agreed to one of the most difficult conditions in the talks, including returning its enriched uranium and refraining from pursuing nuclear weapons for more than 20 years.
“The situation in Iran is proceeding smoothly… it ought to be coming to an end shortly,” he said.
Trump added that discussions between the United States and Iran could continue over the weekend, expressing optimism that a final agreement is within reach.
“They have agreed to return the nuclear dust to us,” he said, referring to uranium.
The US president noted that Iran’s nuclear ambitions had remained a central issue in recent diplomatic engagements, including talks held in Pakistan.
“We will observe the developments… but I believe we are very close to reaching an agreement with Iran,” Trump stated.
The development signals a potential de-escalation in tensions, though no official confirmation has yet been issued by Iranian authorities.
