Bauchi APC Explodes Over Plot to Admit Bala Mohammed, Warns of Political Fallout

The All Progressives Congress caucus in Bauchi State has strongly opposed alleged moves to admit Governor Bala Mohammed into the party, declaring that such a decision could trigger serious political consequences and weaken the party’s structure in the state.

The position was made known Tuesday night after a high-level caucus meeting held in Abuja, where party leaders from the state unanimously resolved to reject any attempt to grant the governor entry into the APC.

Addressing journalists after the meeting, Senator Sama’ila Dahuwa, who represents Bauchi North Senatorial District and chairs the Bauchi APC caucus, said members reached the decision after what he described as exhaustive deliberations.

According to him, the caucus “unequivocally rejects” any move to admit Bala Mohammed, stressing that the governor had repeatedly made public comments critical of President Bola Tinubu and the APC, with remarks considered injurious to the unity and integrity of the party.

He added that the governor had neither withdrawn those statements nor taken steps toward reconciliation through apology or formal engagement with party leaders.

Dahuwa stated that admitting Mohammed under the current circumstances would pose a threat to the party’s cohesion, credibility and electoral strength in Bauchi State ahead of future political contests.

The caucus further warned that it would resist any political arrangement capable of undermining the party’s stability and fortunes in the state.

Members also faulted the alleged absence of consultation with key stakeholders in the Bauchi APC over such a sensitive political matter, insisting that any major decision affecting the party must follow internal democratic procedures.

The caucus said its resolution would be formally communicated to the national leadership of the APC, with a demand for strict adherence to due process and established party structures.
