Presidency Begins Registration of 10 Million Nigerians for Financial Literacy Training

The Presidency has commenced registration for the Federal Government’s nationwide training programme aimed at equipping 10 million Nigerians with financial inclusion and literacy skills.

The registration exercise is being coordinated by WAWUAfrica, with interested participants expected to enrol through its onboarding portal.

Vice President Kashim Shettima flagged off the initiative during a virtual meeting involving the Presidential Committee on Economic and Financial Inclusion (PreCEFI), six professional bodies, and key development partners including the World Bank, African Union (AU), ECOWAS, and the National Information Technology Development Agency (NITDA).

Represented by his Special Adviser on Economic Affairs, Dr. Tope Fasua, the Vice President described the programme as a flagship initiative of the Tinubu administration with the potential for both national and global impact.

“The flag-off ceremony for the upskilling initiative will become one of the flagship programmes of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu in terms of its impact on Nigerians and its potential to scale globally,” he said.

Shettima highlighted key focus areas of the programme to include digital and IT literacy, financial and economic literacy, service delivery, healthcare and wellness, creative arts and design, business and entrepreneurship, as well as technical and hospitality skills.

He also commended WAWUAfrica and other development partners for their collaboration, expressing optimism that the initiative would continue to expand.

“We believe this programme will grow further through partnerships until we achieve maximum impact,” he added.

Meanwhile, the Technical Adviser to the President on Economic and Financial Inclusion, Dr. Nurudeen Zauro, said engagements are ongoing with stakeholders to drive awareness and encourage participation among Nigerians.
