Felix Morka, the party’s National Publicity Secretary, stated this in a communiqué issued on Monday, noting that the zoning arrangement is detailed in the party’s official schedule of nationwide congresses, national convention, and related activities for the year.
Morka emphasized that the zoning formula, which allocates NWC positions across states within the geopolitical zones, remains valid and binding for all aspirants.
“As contained in the published APC 2026 Schedule of Nationwide Congresses, National Convention, and Related Activities, the existing zoning arrangement for National Working Committee positions across states within the geopolitical zones remains valid and applicable to the upcoming National Convention,” the statement read.
He further advised party members and aspirants seeking national offices to strictly adhere to the zoning guidelines when purchasing and submitting Expression of Interest and Nomination Forms.
The APC is expected to hold its national convention later this year as part of preparations for the 2027 general elections. Bello Masari, former Speaker of the House of Representatives and ex-Governor of Katsina State, has been appointed Chairman of the National Convention Central Coordination Committee.
