Air Strikes Eliminate Two Senior ISWAP Commanders in Sambisa Forest

Two senior leaders of the Islamic State West Africa Province (ISWAP) have been killed in precision air strikes in the Yuwe area of Sambisa Forest, Borno State, security sources confirmed.

The operation, conducted by the Air Component of Operation Hadin Kai, targeted buildings identified as terrorist command centres and logistics hubs. The strikes occurred at approximately 6:08 a.m. on Friday.

The deceased commanders were identified as: Ali G3, ISWAP’s commander in Yuwe, Abdullahi Muga, another senior member of the group’s leadership

Their deaths follow earlier reports of the elimination of other key figures, including Saddam, Saleh Garin Kago, Hussaini Ubaida, and Ba Alayi Benbem in the same operation.

A security source explained, “upon confirmation of the targets, the aircraft acquired and engaged the selected objectives with precision-guided munitions. Post-strike assessments confirm destruction of command centres and logistics sites, significantly weakening ISWAP’s operational capacity in the Sambisa corridor.”

Military authorities emphasised that intelligence-led operations will continue to dismantle terrorist leadership networks and consolidate gains achieved in the North-East. Efforts are ongoing to verify the identities of additional ISWAP leaders reportedly killed during the operation.

The strikes represent a significant blow to ISWAP, disrupting its command structure and logistical capabilities in one of its strongholds.
