Osun 2026: APC Sure Of Victory As Tinubu’s Achievements Boost Chances – Oyintiloye

A chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Osun State, Hon. Olatunbosun Oyintiloye, has expressed confidence that the party will emerge victorious in the August 8 governorship election, citing the achievements of President Bola Tinubu as a major boost to its chances.
Speaking with journalists in Osogbo on Sunday, Oyintiloye said the performance of APC governors across the country, alongside the accomplishments of the party’s past administration in Osun, would play significant roles in securing victory for its candidate, Bola Oyebamiji.
According to him, the reforms and policies of the Tinubu administration have repositioned the APC as an attractive platform, drawing politicians from opposition parties into its fold.
He described the recent defection of five federal lawmakers from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and other parties to the APC as a clear indication of the party’s growing strength ahead of the poll.
“The defection of the five PDP National Assembly members and the endorsement of the President for a second term are strong signals that the people of Osun are ready to return the APC to power in the August 8 governorship election,” he said.
Oyintiloye maintained that residents of the state were yearning for what he termed a return to good governance under the APC, expressing optimism that the party’s candidate would meet the expectations of the electorate.
He described Oyebamiji as competent, reliable and committed to fulfilling his campaign promises for the overall development of the state.
The former lawmaker also commended the Minister of Marine and Blue Economy, Gboyega Oyetola, whom he identified as the leader of the party in the state, for sustaining the unity and strength of the APC despite being out of government.
He noted that Oyetola, in collaboration with other stakeholders, had put in place a framework to accommodate new entrants into the party without alienating existing members.
Oyintiloye urged residents not to be swayed by what he described as a campaign of calumny against the APC by rival parties, insisting that the state would witness renewed development under Oyebamiji’s leadership.
He further called on members of opposition parties who are willing to join the APC to do so without hesitation, assuring them that the party has the capacity and structure to accommodate all interested stakeholders in the interest of the state’s progress.
