In a sharply worded rejoinder, Hon. Wole Oke, through his Senior Media Aide, Omolebi-Sunday Segun Tunde, has dismissed what he described as a “misplaced attack” by Governor Ademola Adeleke on his person, accusing the state executive of abandoning critical infrastructure projects and neglecting the people of Ijesa North Federal Constituency.
The response, signed on Saturday, February 21, 2026, contended that the Governor’s criticism revealed a fundamental misunderstanding of governance, particularly the constitutional separation of powers between the executive and legislative arms of government.
“The Governor’s remarks betray an almost unvarnished misunderstanding of public administration. Governance is not conducted on social media or through emotionally charged press releases; it is anchored on constitutional clarity, fiscal responsibility, and institutional collaboration,” the statement read.
Hon. Oke, who chairs the House Committee on Foreign Affairs, was praised for his sustained interventions in Ijesa North, including support for students’ fees in technical colleges across Osun State, funding for indigent students’ JAMB registration, facilitation of TETFund projects, and construction of classrooms in neglected communities.
The statement accused the Governor of selectively responding to infrastructure challenges in Oriade/Obokun, particularly the collapsed Ere-Ilahun bridge, only as election campaigns loom. The bridge reportedly collapsed nearly two years ago, yet no meaningful action was taken by the state government until Hon. Oke intervened.
“Nearly two years later, nothing meaningful happened. Now, with election fever thick in the air, the administration suddenly remembers the same road and bridge. We can smell Greek gifts when we see one,” the statement said.
Hon. Oke’s office further questioned why development in the state appeared concentrated around areas of political convenience, describing recent emergency repairs to roads in Ede as signs of political panic and electoral calculations.
The statement concluded by urging the people of Ijesa North to recognize consistent, proactive leadership over last-minute gestures. It highlighted that Hon. Oke’s track record reflected “maturity in public service, legislative competence, and sincerity in constituency engagement,” asserting that history would remember those who prioritized service over spectacle.
