The Senator representing Osun West, Lere Oyewumi, has commissioned the rehabilitation of the Iyana Molarere–Amukuku Road in Ikire, the headquarters of Irewole Local Government Area, ending years of transportation challenges for residents and commuters.
According to a statement from the senator’s media office, the road, which links several communities and supports daily economic, social, and commercial activities, had deteriorated significantly over the years, making travel unsafe and cumbersome.
“The completion of this project has not only improved accessibility and safety but also eased the movement of people and goods within Ikire and neighbouring areas,” the statement added.
The rehabilitation, observers noted, further underscores Senator Oyewumi’s commitment to infrastructural development as a catalyst for economic growth and community well-being. “His consistent interventions across Ikire reflect his dedication to effective representation and inclusive development,” the statement concluded.
Residents of Ikire have lauded the senator, describing the road upgrade as a long-awaited relief that will enhance commerce and daily life in the region.
