As Ondo State marks its 50th anniversary, Hon. Lekan Olotu Folorunso, FCA (OBA), House of Representatives aspirant for Owo/Ose Federal Constituency, has congratulated the people of the state and applauded their resilience and progress over the past five decades.

Created on February 3, 1976, during the military administration of General Murtala Muhammed, Ondo State will officially celebrate its golden jubilee on February 3, 2026.

In a statement, Olotu described the milestone as “a moment to reflect and celebrate,” noting the state’s achievements despite challenges.

He said, “Ondo State has recorded tremendous development through the collective efforts of its people, past administrations, and visionary leadership. This historic milestone reflects five decades of growth, resilience, and progressive governance.”

Olotu praised former leaders and successive governors for laying solid foundations for development, while commending Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa for policies and projects that demonstrate stability, continuity, and people-oriented leadership.

He also acknowledged the founding fathers for creating the state and urged citizens to remain united to sustain peace, good governance, and progress.
“Ondo State is blessed with human and natural resources that have contributed to the growth we see today.

Every governor and administrator since 1976 has added value to the state’s journey,” Olotu said, expressing optimism for an even brighter future.
