Adeleke Govt Marginalises Obokun, Oriade: 700 Teachers Blocked, ₦60bn Roads Diverted — Oke

A serving member of the House of Representatives and Chairman, House Committee on Foreign Affairs, Hon. Oluwole Oke, has accused the Adeleke-led Osun State Government of deliberately marginalising Obokun and Oriade Local Government Areas by blocking the employment of 700 teachers and diverting over ₦60 billion earmarked for road rehabilitation.
Oke, who represents Obokun/Oriade Federal Constituency, made the allegations in a post on his Facebook page on Wednesday, describing the actions of the state government as part of a systematic pattern of neglect against his constituency.
According to the lawmaker, his effort to facilitate the recruitment of 700 teachers to address manpower shortages in primary and secondary schools across Obokun and Oriade was frustrated by the state government.
Beyond education, Oke alleged that funds allocated in the 2025 budget for road projects in the two local governments were diverted to other parts of the state — an act he described as a blatant breach of the Federal Character Principle.
“This is a very serious infraction of the Federal Character Principle. Our share of Osun revenue has been used elsewhere,” Oke said.
The federal lawmaker also raised concerns over the Osun College of Technology (OSCOTECH) in his hometown, alleging that the institution had been abandoned by the state government, except for projects executed through the Tertiary Education Trust Fund (TETFund) — which he claimed he facilitated while serving on the House Committee on TETFund.
Oke further alleged that internally generated revenue (IGR) staff, who were promised absorption into the state workforce, were ignored and denied salaries for months.
On technical education, the lawmaker said he had personally sustained all nine technical colleges in Osun State by paying students’ school fees, accusing the Adeleke administration of refusing to equip the institutions.
“Outside the payment of salaries of a few teachers, the government has refused to equip these colleges. The equipment currently in use were procured during the administrations of Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola and Asiwaju Gboyega Oyetola,” he stated.
Declaring that the alleged marginalisation would soon end, Oke said the situation would change on August 8, 2026, adding that AMBO — Asiwaju Munirudeeen Bola Oyebamiji, the APC governorship candidate in Osun — is coming to our rescue.
He insisted that all his claims were verifiable and open to fact-checking.
Efforts to get a response from the Osun State Government to Oke’s allegations were unsuccessful as of press time.
