APC Blasts Adeleke Over “Half Salary” Claims, Reaffirms Oyebamiji’s Role in Restoring State Finances

The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Osun State has rejected claims by Governor Ademola Adeleke’s administration that the party’s gubernatorial candidate, Asiwaju Munirudeen Bola Oyebamiji (AMBO), was behind the state’s infamous half salary regime.

In a statement on Monday, the APC described the allegation as “fallacious, illogical, and devoid of common sense,” insisting that the real architect of the controversial salary structure was Wale Bolorunduro, Adeleke’s ally and former Finance Commissioner under Governor Rauf Aregbesola.

The party’s Director of Media and Information, Mogaji Kola Olabisi, said Oyebamiji only assumed the Finance Commissioner role at the tail end of the Aregbesola administration in 2017, stepping in to stabilize the state’s finances and restore full salary payments to workers.

“It is unfortunate that Governor Adeleke and his cohorts are so quick to forget that Bolorunduro, not Oyebamiji, presided over the modulated salary regime,” the statement read. “Our candidate was instrumental in returning Osun State to full salary payments, socio-economic reforms, and improved sectoral performance.”

The APC further criticized Adeleke’s government as “the worst in the history of the state,” citing alleged failures across multiple sectors, including the youth ministry, which the party accused of becoming “a subject of ridicule, corruption, and nepotism.”

“Osun youths have been subjected to avoidable hardship that a serious government would have averted,” the statement added. “But the people are watching, and come August 8th, 2026, they will send this government packing.”

The party also condemned what it described as “character assassination” by the Adeleke administration and the PDP/Accord coalition, asserting that no such tactics would derail Oyebamiji’s march toward victory.

The APC concluded by praising Oyebamiji’s “integrity, dignity, and faithfulness,” highlighting his achievements as Managing Director of the Osun State Investment Company Limited (OSICOL) and Finance Commissioner, which they say have earned him wide acclaim among Osun citizens.
