The African Democratic Congress (ADC) has issued a stern warning to Nigerians over fraudulent online platforms falsely claiming to offer party membership registration.
In a statement on Sunday, Bolaji Abdullahi, ADC National Publicity Secretary, urged members of the public to disregard all circulating registration links.
He explained that the party has not launched any online membership registration portal. “ADC has not authorised any public online registration link. Any such platform is fraudulent,” Abdullahi said.
The party, he added, is working on an official registration and verification platform, which will be formally announced through verified party channels.
“ADC will never request payment or sensitive personal information, including PVC details, BVN, or banking information, via unofficial links, WhatsApp messages, direct messages, or third-party websites,” the statement read.
Abdullahi also advised Nigerians on how to protect themselves from online scams. “Do not click on suspicious or unverified links. Avoid sharing unconfirmed registration messages. Report any suspicious links through ADC’s official communication channels,” he said.
This is the second time within a year that ADC has had to caution Nigerians against fake online platforms. In July 2025, the party disowned a fraudulent list of state chairmen and warned against online registration schemes designed to defraud unsuspecting members of the public.
All legitimate announcements, including the launch of the official registration platform, will only be communicated through verified ADC channels and formal statements from the party leadership.
