NDLEA Ogun promotes 58 officers, urges professionalism, continuous training

The Ogun State Command of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) has decorated 58 officers recently elevated in rank, with a charge to uphold discipline, integrity and professionalism in the discharge of their duties.

The State Commander, Mr. Tijjani Rabe, gave the charge on Tuesday during the decoration ceremony held at the command’s headquarters in Abeokuta.

Those promoted include 17 Senior Narcotic Agents (SNA), 19 Chief Narcotic Agents (CNA), nine Assistant Superintendents of Narcotics II (ASN II) and 13 Assistant Superintendents of Narcotics I (ASN I).

Rabe said the new ranks come with greater responsibilities, noting that the insignia worn by the officers symbolise commitment to service, excellence and ethical conduct.

He stressed that officers at higher levels must demonstrate leadership and professionalism at all times, adding that continuous learning and self-development are critical to effective service delivery.

According to him, officers must take advantage of training and educational opportunities to enhance their skills and knowledge, explaining that personal growth remains essential to strong leadership and peak performance.

Rabe added that investing in self-development would not only improve operational effectiveness but also inspire subordinates and promote a culture of excellence within the command.

In his goodwill message, the Commissioner for Youth and Sports Development, Mr. Wasiu Isiaka, congratulated the officers and commended the Ogun NDLEA Command for its consistent efforts in tackling drug abuse and illicit trafficking.

Isiaka said the command had recorded notable improvements through effective collaboration, attributing the progress to the leadership of the State Commander.

The ceremony was attended by senior officers and other dignitaries and concluded with a group photograph session.
