The National Working Committee (NWC) of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), led by its National Chairman, Kabiru Tanimu Turaki (SAN), on Tuesday held a closed-door meeting with former President Goodluck Jonathan in Abuja.
The meeting took place at Jonathan’s office in Maitama and began around 5:45pm, with Turaki arriving alongside other members of the NWC and a few selected state party chairmen.
Sources within the party disclosed that the PDP delegation arrived in a convoy of six Sports Utility Vehicles (SUVs), underscoring the high-level nature of the engagement.
It was gathered that discussions centred on the lingering internal crisis within the PDP, efforts to reposition the party, and other key national issues.
Although details of the deliberations were not immediately disclosed, party insiders said the meeting forms part of ongoing consultations by the PDP leadership aimed at restoring stability and strengthening the party’s standing ahead of future political engagements.
