APC Schedules National Convention for March 2026

The All Progressives Congress (APC) has announced its comprehensive timetable for the 2025/2026 series of ward, local government, state, and zonal congresses, leading up to the party’s national convention.

Senator Ajibola Basiru, APC National Secretary, shared the schedule on his verified X (formerly Twitter) account on Saturday, highlighting that the activities are in line with Articles 11 and 17 of the APC Constitution and aimed at electing party officials across all levels.

The process will kick off with membership e-registration starting Monday, December 1, 2025, and running until January 30, 2026. Notices for congresses to state and FCT chapters are slated for February 2, 2026.

The purchase and submission of forms for ward and local government congresses will hold between February 4 and February 9, 2026. Screening committees for these positions will be inaugurated on February 10, with aspirant screening scheduled from February 11 to 13.

Ward congresses are fixed for Wednesday, February 18, with appeals set for February 19. Local government congresses, including the election of three delegates—one of whom must be female—to the national convention, will take place on February 20, with appeals scheduled for February 21.

At the state level, forms for state executive positions will be available from February 23 to 27, 2026. Screening and appeals for state executives will occur in late February and early March, while state congresses are scheduled for Saturday, March 7, 2026. Appeals from state congresses will be heard between March 9 and 11.

The zonal congresses and preparations for the national convention will run from March 12 to 17, with zonal congresses inaugurated on March 18 and aspirant screening on March 19 and 20. The zonal congresses across the six geopolitical zones are scheduled for Saturday, March 21, 2026, followed by appeals on March 23.

The designated zonal offices are Ibadan (South West), Enugu (South East), Rivers/Cross River (South South), Kaduna (North West), Gombe/Bauchi (North East), and Nasarawa (North Central).
Finally, the APC National Convention is scheduled to take place from Wednesday, March 25, to Saturday, March 28, 2026.
