BREAKING: Rivers Reps Dump PDP for APC, Follow Governor Fubara
Four members of the House of Representatives from Rivers State have defected from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to the All Progressives Congress (APC).
The lawmakers are Manuchim Umezuruike (Port Harcourt I Federal Constituency), Boniface Emerengwa (Ikwerre/Emuoha Federal Constituency), Awaji-Inombek Abiante (Andoni/Opobo Federal Constituency) and Boma Goodhead (Asari-Toru Federal Constituency).
Their defection comes barely one week after Rivers State Governor, Siminalayi Fubara, officially joined the ruling APC, signalling a major realignment in the state’s political landscape.
Sources said the lawmakers are allies of the governor and their move is part of a broader consolidation of forces ahead of future political engagements in the state.
With the latest development, the APC has strengthened its foothold in Rivers, traditionally regarded as a PDP stronghold.
