Osun 2026: APC adopts Bola Oyebamiji as governorship candidate
Former Managing Director of the National Inland Waterways Authority (NIWA), Munirudeen Bola Oyebamiji, has emerged as the All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship candidate for the 2026 Osun State election.
Oyebamiji was affirmed on Saturday at the party’s governorship primary held in Osogbo, following a consensus arrangement endorsed by the APC National Working Committee (NWC).
Announcing the decision, former governorship aspirant, Kunle Rasheed Adegoke (SAN), said all other aspirants willingly stepped down in the interest of party unity and stability.
According to Adegoke, the process culminated in a motion moved and unanimously adopted by party stakeholders present at the primary.
“I, Kunle Adegoke, with the consent of all other aspirants, move the motion that Asiwaju Munirudeen Bola Oyebamiji be adopted as the consensus candidate of the APC for the 2026 Osun governorship election. I so move,” he said.
The adoption of Oyebamiji signals the APC’s early consolidation ahead of the 2026 polls, as the party intensifies consultations and mobilisation across the state.
