APC Shifts National Caucus, NEC Meetings to December 18-19

APC Shifts National Caucus, NEC Meetings to December 18–19

The All Progressives Congress (APC) has rescheduled its forthcoming National Caucus and National Executive Committee (NEC) meetings, originally slated for December 15–16, 2025. The party announced the new dates as December 18 for the National Caucus and December 19 for the NEC meeting.

The announcement was made in an official notice titled “Change of Meeting Dates”, issued by APC National Secretary, Senator Surajudeen Basiru, and shared on his X handle on Sunday.

According to the notice, the National Caucus will hold on Thursday, December 18, at 6:00 p.m., while the NEC session will take place on Friday, December 19, at 3:00 p.m. Both meetings are scheduled at the Banquet Hall of the Presidential Villa, Abuja.

The document urged all members to attend in line with Articles 12.3, 13.3, and 11.5 of the APC Constitution, which govern the composition and procedures of these bodies.

The National Caucus is made up of high-profile party figures, including the President and Vice President, past and present APC-affiliated presidents and vice presidents, serving and former governors, and zonal representatives.

The NEC, APC’s highest decision-making organ, includes the National Chairman, Deputy National Chairmen (North and South), National Secretary, Deputy Secretary, National Legal Adviser and Deputy, Treasurer and Deputy, Organising Secretary, Financial Secretary, Publicity Secretary, Women and Youth Leaders, Deputy Leaders, State Chairmen, zonal representatives, and members elected by the National Convention.

The rescheduling comes just days after the initial December 15–16 announcement, which was to mark the party’s first major gatherings in over a year. The notice did not provide reasons for the change.

“All members are by this invitation to take notice of the meeting in accordance with Article 11.5 of the Constitution,” the statement read.
