‘You Ain’t Seen Nothing Yet,’ Soludo Tells Anambra People After Re-election Victory

Governor Chukwuma Soludo of Anambra State has expressed profound appreciation to the people of the state for renewing his mandate for another four years, describing his re-election as both a victory for democracy and a defining moment in the state’s political history.

Speaking shortly after his declaration as the winner of Saturday’s governorship election by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), Governor Soludo said the outcome of the poll reflected the confidence and trust the electorate reposed in his administration.

The governor, who was re-elected alongside his deputy, Dr Onyeka Ibezim, recalled that his first electoral victory in 2021 came amid low voter turnout. He noted, however, that the 2025 election witnessed a remarkable improvement in citizen participation.

“Four years ago, you spoke and gave us your mandate. That election was the first time Anambra experimented with BVAS, and the turnout was extremely low. You elected us with 112,000 votes,” Soludo said.

“This time, you have spoken loudly. In terms of the percentage of registered voters who participated, about 22 percent voted in this election — breaking the 20 percent glass ceiling for the first time in our history,” he added.

Governor Soludo, who described his re-election as a call to greater service, assured Anambra people of accelerated development and inclusive governance in his second term.

“We applied for this job, and you employed us four years ago. What I can say today is that you have not seen anything yet,” he declared.

“Like the Americans would say, ‘You ain’t seen nothing yet.’ With this renewed trust and in partnership with you, we shall, over the next four years, take Anambra to new heights and justify the confidence you have placed in us,” he said.

Governor Soludo also praised the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) for what he described as a largely credible and transparent process, while commending security agencies and the people of the state for conducting themselves peacefully throughout the exercise.
