The Osun State Governor, Ademola Adeleke, has dismissed claims that he is negotiating with former Governor Rauf Aregbesola to join the African Democratic Congress (ADC).
The denial comes after a statement by the Osun State APC chairman suggested that Governor Adeleke was in talks with Aregbesola over a possible defection to ADC.
Speaking through his spokesperson, Mallam Olawale Rasheed, Governor Adeleke described the reports as entirely false, urging members of the public to disregard them.
“The assertions by the opposition are mere fabrication and fake news. The governor is not negotiating with former Governor Aregbesola about ADC, nor is he joining the party,” Rasheed said.
The governor’s office warned that such reports are misleading and intended to create confusion, appealing to Osun residents to remain calm and not be swayed by misinformation.
