Osun PDP Debunks Report on Suspension of Party Activities, Blames APC for Fake Publication

The Osun State Chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has dismissed as false and misleading a report circulating on social media claiming that the party has suspended all its meetings and political activities in the state due to a purported national crisis.

In a statement signed by the State Publicity Secretary, Hon. Jacob Ayodeji Areola, and made available to newsmen in Osogbo, the party described the publication as the handiwork of “desperate elements in the opposition, particularly the All Progressives Congress (APC),” whom it accused of spreading falsehood to cause confusion among party members and the public.

Areola stated that the purported statement, which was deceitfully attributed to him, was a “fabrication from the rejected and jittery opposition,” stressing that the Osun PDP remains active, united, and fully operational across all levels in the state.

> “For the avoidance of doubt, the Osun State PDP has not suspended any of its political or organizational activities. Our structures remain intact, vibrant, and fully committed to supporting the visionary leadership of His Excellency, Senator Ademola Jackson Nurudeen Adeleke,” Areola declared.

He urged members of the public and loyal party members to disregard the report, describing it as a reflection of the “frustration and desperation” within the opposition camp.

The PDP spokesman further disclosed that the party had activated its legal and security mechanisms to identify and prosecute those behind the fake release.

> “The criminal impersonator behind this malicious act will be fished out and made to face the full weight of the law,” he added.

Reaffirming the party’s strength and cohesion, Areola said the PDP in Osun remains focused on delivering good governance and sustainable development under the leadership of Governor Ademola Adeleke.

He concluded by describing the fake report as “a beer parlour dream of political drunkards whose hallucinations will never materialize,” insisting that the PDP in Osun is stable and waxing stronger ahead of the 2026 governorship election.
