Accreditation of delegates has started in Ado-Ekiti ahead of Monday’s governorship primary of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ekiti State.
No fewer than 885 delegates from the 16 local government areas are expected to participate in the affirmation of Governor Biodun Oyebanji as the party’s consensus candidate for the June 2026 poll.
At the Ekiti Parapo Pavilion, venue of the exercise, delegates were seen on queues at designated stands undergoing accreditation before entry into the main hall.
Chairman of the Consensus Primary Election Committee and Kogi Governor, Usman Ododo, had assured stakeholders on Sunday that the exercise would be smooth and transparent.
He said the delegates would be called in batches to affirm Oyebanji’s candidature in line with the party’s directive.
As at 10 a.m., the delegates were already being accredited and escorted into the main arena.
Security personnel including Police, DSS and NSCDC operatives were stationed around the pavilion and routes leading to the venue to maintain order.
