The Osun State chapter of ADC New Media has slammed a violent attack on the African Democratic Congress (ADC) secretariat in Ekiti State, describing it as a brazen and cowardly assault on democracy itself.
Abimbola Akande, New Media Publicity Secretary of Osun ADC, said vandals destroyed parts of the building and crucial documents in the early hours of the incident. “This is not just an attack on our party; it is an attack on democracy itself. ADC stands unshaken and resolute. We will not be silenced,” he declared.
The party demanded an immediate investigation and the prosecution of those responsible. “Political violence will no longer be tolerated under any guise,” the statement added.
ADC New Media also called on citizens to remain vigilant and resist any attempts to destabilize the democratic process, reaffirming the party’s commitment to inclusivity, transparency, and justice for all.
The attack comes amid rising political tensions in parts of the South-West, where clashes over party activities have occasionally threatened peaceful political engagement.
The Osun ADC New Media warned that while enemies of progress may destroy property, they cannot burn the resolve of the people.
