Ahead of the 2026 governorship election in Osun State, Falilat Oyetunji, popularly known as Ero Arike, a senior All Progressives Congress (APC) chieftain, has urged the party leadership to exercise caution in selecting its flag bearer, warning against endorsing candidates with criminal backgrounds.
In a video widely circulated on social media, Ero Arike, who has openly backed Bola Oyebamiji, also called AMBO, cautioned that choosing the wrong candidate could spell disaster for both the party and the electorate.
“Don’t pick a murderer as a candidate,” she warned. “It is better we learn from past mistakes. We cannot afford to mourn over our children. I can foresee what may happen if we do not act wisely.”
The warning follows her recent criticism of APC leaders over alleged mismanagement of local government funds distributed across the state. She stressed that transparency and accountability must guide the party’s processes as it prepares for the primaries.
Ero Arike, who has become increasingly vocal in recent weeks, said the APC must uphold integrity in its decision-making to avoid repeating past errors and ensure the party remains credible ahead of the 2026 governorship contest.
