Tinubu’s Defeat Inevitable, APC Already Running Scared — Aregbesola
Former Minister of Interior and National Secretary of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), Rauf Aregbesola, at the weekend declared that President Bola Tinubu will be defeated in the 2027 elections, insisting that the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) is already behaving like a frightened party.
Aregbesola, who spoke in Ilorin on Saturday after the commissioning of the ADC’s state secretariat along Basin Road, said the APC’s intolerance of opposition betrays its fear of losing power.
“If APC is truly confident in its strength, it won’t be hounding and hunting the opposition across the country,” he said.
“They are intimidating our members nationwide — in Lagos, Kebbi, Kaduna and beyond. A confident party would be calm. Their panic shows they know they are not popular.”
The former governor of Osun State said Nigerians are fed up with the APC and that the ADC will harvest that anger at the polls.
“By the grace of God, ADC will take over the mantle of leadership in Nigeria and in most of the states in 2027,” he declared.
Commenting on governors crossing to the APC, Aregbesola described them as “enemies of the people” who have abandoned public interest for personal comfort.
In the same vein, former Kwara State Governor Abdulfatah Ahmed, who recently defected from the PDP to the ADC, said the party is fully prepared to assume power at the centre in 2027.
