Woman Collapses in Ilorin Court as Husband Demands Divorce

Drama unfolded in an Ilorin Area Court on Thursday as a woman, Mulikat Yusuf, collapsed after her husband, Ishaq Abdulganiyu, insisted on ending their marriage.

Abdulganiyu told the court that he no longer wished to continue with the union, prompting an emotional reaction from Yusuf, who pleaded against the divorce. The mother of six expressed fears over her future, questioning where she would go if the marriage ended.

After hearing her husband’s application for divorce, Yusuf slumped while leaving the courtroom. Court officials quickly attended to her and revived her by splashing water on her face.

The presiding judge, Mr. Toyin Aluko, urged the couple to explore all possible avenues to resolve their differences before proceeding further.

The matter was adjourned to December 10 for either a settlement report or hearing.
