Akinlalu Killings: Adeleke Lauds Police Swift Action, Demands Justice Within Rule of Law

Osun State Governor, Senator Ademola Adeleke, has commended the Inspector-General of Police, Kayode Egbetokun, for the prompt response and decisive steps taken in the ongoing investigation into the recent killings in Akinlalu, Ife North Local Government Area of the state.

Adeleke, in a statement by his spokesperson, Mallam Olawale Rasheed, on Friday, expressed satisfaction with the progress made so far by the police authorities, describing their intervention as timely and professional.

The governor assured the Nigeria Police of his administration’s full cooperation and support to ensure that those behind the tragic incident are brought to justice.

“I have directed a thorough investigation into the killings, and I urge all residents and stakeholders to support the process. Justice must prevail, and no culprit, no matter how highly placed, will be spared,” Adeleke said.

While sympathizing with the families of the victims, the governor reaffirmed his resolve to uphold the rule of law throughout the investigative process.

“The police must adhere strictly to due process and ensure that the innocent are protected. Justice must not only be done but must be seen to be done,” he added.

Adeleke also warned against any form of interference or acts of impunity, insisting that his administration would not condone lawlessness or abuse of authority.

He charged all security agencies — including the Department of State Services (DSS), Amotekun Corps, and other law enforcement bodies — to maintain peace and order as the investigation continues.

“I call on all security formations to ensure calm and orderliness while investigations are ongoing. The state government remains committed to peace, justice, and fairness,” Adeleke stressed.
