Adeleke Denies N300m Fraud Allegation, Says APC Peddling Falsehood

Osun State Governor, Senator Ademola Adeleke, has dismissed reports of an alleged ₦300 million scandal in any ministry or agency of the state government, describing the claims as false and politically motivated.

In a statement issued on Friday by his spokesperson, Mallam Olawale Rasheed, the governor said his administration remains committed to transparency and accountability in all its operations.

Reacting to the allegation reportedly made by the state chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Rasheed accused the opposition party of “manufacturing lies” to divert attention from its dwindling popularity among Osun residents.

“Beer parlour gossip elevated to the level of party propaganda cannot whitewash a badly battered opposition like the APC,” Rasheed said. “No amount of fake news can change the reality that APC and its aspirants are unelectable as far as the 2026 election is concerned.”

He explained that the state government strictly adheres to the procurement law, which sets approval thresholds and enforces due process in all financial transactions.

“Under the current administration, no ministry official can handle such a huge sum without going through the tendering process, oversight, and compliance checks,” he added. “The allegation is not only baseless but also shows the desperation of the opposition.”

While commending Governor Adeleke for what he described as his commitment to good governance and due process, Rasheed warned that the government may consider legal action against those behind the “defamatory” publication.

“We deny the allegation as a reprehensible lie from the pit of hell. Governor Adeleke has zero tolerance for corruption and will never shield any official found guilty of misconduct,” he said.

The statement concluded that the Adeleke administration remains focused on delivering its development agenda rather than engaging in “petty political distractions.”
