Senate President Godswill Akpabio read the president’s letters during Tuesday’s plenary, noting that the requests were sent separately for each agency.
For NERC, Tinubu nominated Abdullahi Ramat as chairman and chief executive officer, with Abubakar Yusuf and Fouad Olayinka Animashaun proposed as commissioners for consumer affairs and finance management services, respectively.
At the FCCPC, the president recommended Louis Odion, commissioner for operations from Edo State, and Ummueelm Isiyaku Rabiu, commissioner for corporate services from Kano State.
For the NPC, Tinubu sought confirmation of Agbaje Olukoye as chairman representing the South-West, Hafiz Muhammad Kawu Ibrahim as technical commissioner for the North-West, Samuel Chigozie Uwande as inspectorate commissioner for the South-East, and Charles Efe Sylvester as finance commissioner for the South-South.
Bello Abubakar Malabu was nominated as administration commissioner for the North-East, while Omolola Bridget Oliworaran was proposed as director-general for the South-West.
Other NPC nominees include Joseph Haruna Kigbu from Nasarawa and Tonge Betara Bularafa from Yobe.
For RMAFC, the president forwarded the names of Bello Abubakar Wammako (Sokoto), Hadizatu Uwani Mustapha (Borno), Marafa Bashir Abba (Taraba), Ahmed Waziri Hassan (Adamawa), Bob Helen Inafe (Bayelsa), and Gboyega Oladele (Osun).
In a separate letter, Tinubu also requested the Senate to confirm Obehi Aire Okafor as co-chairman of the governing council of the Unclaimed Funds Trust Fund. The Senate is expected to consider the confirmations in upcoming plenary sessions.
