President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has renominated Pharmacist Gboyega Oladele, an Osun-born technocrat and close ally of the Minister of Marine and Blue Economy, Adegboyega Oyetola, for another term as Commissioner of the Revenue Mobilisation, Allocation and Fiscal Commission (RMAFC).
The renomination was contained in a letter read by Senate President Godswill Akpabio during the Senate’s plenary on Tuesday as lawmakers resumed from their recess.
Oladele, who represented Osun State in the commission from 2020 to 2025, was among four nominees whose names were forwarded by the President for screening and confirmation by the upper chamber.
A seasoned public administrator and pharmacist, Oladele is expected to serve another five-year tenure upon confirmation by the Senate.
During his previous term, he played an active role in policy discussions around revenue allocation and fiscal management between the federal, state, and local governments.
His renomination is seen as a reflection of the President’s confidence in his experience and performance at the commission, as well as the influence of Oyetola’s political bloc within the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Osun State.
