Arsenal forward Bukayo Saka etched his name further into the club’s history books on Saturday, becoming the second youngest player to register 100 goal involvements for the Gunners, in their 2-0 Premier League victory against West Ham United at the London Stadium
Saka scored the second goal from the penalty spot after Declan Rice had opened the scoring in the 38th minute. The win also marked Saka’s 200th Premier League appearance for Arsenal, a milestone highlighting his consistency and impact since making his debut in 2019.
The 24-year-old now has 55 goals and 45 assists in the league, making him only the second Arsenal player after Cesc Fabregas, who reached the mark at 23 years and 237 days, to hit the century of goal contributions at such a young age.
Saka’s Premier League record so far reads 115 wins, 41 draws, and 44 losses, with 181 starts and 19 substitute appearances. He is the 18th Arsenal player to reach 200 league appearances in the Premier League era and the 79th in the club’s history.
He also became the third English player for Arsenal to reach 100 goal involvements in the league, following Ian Wright (123) and Theo Walcott (108). Across the Premier League, Saka is now the seventh youngest player to hit the milestone, and the youngest since Romelu Lukaku in February 2017.
Speaking after the game, Saka said,
“There’s a lot to celebrate a beautiful win, another goal, and 200 appearances as well. I’m very proud and don’t take these moments for granted, especially after missing some games due to injury. I’ll enjoy this and come back ready to give my best for the team.”
Arsenal coach Mikel Arteta lauded Saka’s achievement, noting,
“200 games and 100 goal involvements at his age is incredible. The way he performs consistently, even under pressure, shows the kind of player we need to achieve our goals this season.”
After the international break, Arsenal will travel to Fulham, while West Ham will host Brentford.
