Osun APC Chieftain Assures Grassroots Development As Councils Access Funds

A chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Osun State, Hon. Olaide Mustapha, has assured residents that the newly inaugurated local government councils will deliver rapid grassroots development across the state.

Mustapha, popularly known as OLIPHA, gave the assurance while featuring on a radio programme in Ijebu-Jesa, Oriade Local Government Area, following the release of pending allocations to the 30 local government areas and the Ife-East Area Office, Modakeke.

According to him, the APC chairmen and councillors are “fully prepared to hit the ground running” with people-centred programmes aimed at improving the lives of ordinary citizens.

“Our local governments will never remain the same again,” he said. “Now that the APC has secured their legitimate funds, we are confident the resources will be utilized effectively to meet the expectations of the people and drive meaningful development, particularly at the grassroots.”

Mustapha expressed confidence in the leadership qualities of the council bosses, stressing that their priority would be youth empowerment, re-engagement of teachers and health workers, restoration of school food vendors, and prompt remittance of statutory dues to traditional rulers.

He added that the dividends of democracy would be visible in every community as the councils roll out initiatives in education, health, and job creation.

Residents who called into the programme welcomed the assurances but urged the local government chairmen to ensure immediate implementation of policies that would reflect in improved service delivery across their domains.
