Osun Group Seeks FG Mediation in PENGASSAN–Dangote Row
A civil society group, The Osun Mastermind, on Monday urged the Federal Government to intervene in the face-off between the Petroleum and Natural Gas Senior Staff Association of Nigeria (PENGASSAN) and Dangote Refinery.
Executive Director, Prof. Wasiu Oyedokun-Alli, speaking in Osogbo, warned that the row threatens the country’s fragile economy and could scare away investors.
PENGASSAN had directed members to cut gas supply to the refinery, accusing management of sacking unionised staff. Dangote Refinery faulted the directive, describing it as “lawlessness.”
Oyedokun-Alli said the Labour and Petroleum ministries as well as the Presidency must urgently broker peace to protect workers’ rights and ensure uninterrupted refinery operations.
