CBN, OAGF Deny Releasing Osun LG Funds to APC Chairmen
The Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) and the Office of the Accountant-General of the Federation (OAGF) on Monday denied claims that withheld local government allocations for Osun State were released to APC chairmen and councillors.
The denial came at the Federal High Court in Abuja, where the Osun State Government had alleged that the funds, subject of ongoing litigation, were unlawfully disbursed through accounts at United Bank for Africa (UBA).
Representing CBN and OAGF, senior advocates insisted the claims were “rumours” and no funds had been released. The state government, meanwhile, secured a restraining order from the Oyo State High Court to prevent any disbursement.
