Bauchi Governor Relieves Women Affairs Commissioner of Duties

Bauchi State Governor, Senator Bala Mohammed, has removed Hajiya Zainab Baban Takko from her position as Commissioner for Women Affairs and Child Development.

The announcement, which takes immediate effect, was made on Sunday through a statement by the Governor’s Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Mukhtar Gidado. The statement described the move as a “minor adjustment” to the composition of the State Executive Council.

While no official reason was provided for her removal, Governor Mohammed commended Hajiya Takko for her contributions to the state and wished her success in future endeavors.

Takko, who was sworn in as commissioner on September 9, 2024, previously served as the caretaker chairperson of Bauchi Local Government Area, an appointment she received from the governor in July 2023.
