Tinubu Urges Nigerians to Endure Economic Pain, Says Light Awaits at Tunnel’s End
President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has assured Nigerians that the economic hardships they are experiencing are temporary, describing them as “the pain of a painful surgery” that will eventually yield growth and prosperity.
The President made the remarks yesterday at the coronation of the 44th Olubadan of Ibadanland, His Imperial Majesty, Oba Rashidi Ladoja, held at the historic Mapo Hall.
Tinubu thanked Nigerians, particularly the people of Ibadan, for their support, urging them to remain steadfast as the government continues its economic reforms.
He said, “To many of you here today, I am honoured and proud to share the encouraging news that the economy has turned a corner. There is a bright light at the end of the tunnel. Your suffering is like the pain of a difficult surgery, but we are moving towards growth and prosperity.”
Earlier in the day, Oyo State Governor Seyi Makinde presented the Staff of Office to Oba Rashidi Ladoja, marking the official coronation of the 44th Olubadan of Ibadanland.
The ceremony attracted traditional rulers, government officials, and political stakeholders, highlighting the significance of the event in Ibadan and across the Southwest.
