Ukachukwu Vows to Revamp Anambra’s Health and Industrial Sectors

Nicholas Ukachukwu, the All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship candidate in the November 8 Anambra election, has condemned the state of healthcare in Anambra, describing hospitals as “glorified mortuaries.”

Speaking at the inauguration of the APC campaign council in Awka, Ukachukwu promised to prioritize security and industrialization if elected. He dismissed existing state projects as wasteful, arguing they fail to meet the basic needs of residents.

“The state needs a shift from projects that are monumental wastes to investments that directly impact the lives of the people,” he said, specifically criticising initiatives such as the Fun City project.

Ukachukwu unveiled a policy blueprint focused on an agricultural value chain revolution and the establishment of a power plant to drive industrial clusters. “In Anambra, it is either you are manufacturing, trading, or farming. We will ensure security and establish a power plant to serve the people and boost industrial development,” he stated.

On the state of healthcare, Ukachukwu lamented the deterioration of hospitals, claiming, “Hospitals have deteriorated into glorified mortuaries.”

Addressing speculations about his financial status, he asserted, “I am worth billions and cannot owe billions as some are alleging. Academic certificates do not define one’s capability.”

He dismissed his political opponents as irrelevant, insisting their attacks stem from his growing influence. “We can’t discuss them because they are not worthy of discussion. They talk about us because we are relevant, but time will reveal who is truly capable,” he said.

Ukachukwu expressed confidence in victory, noting the APC has the backing of the presidency. “President Bola Tinubu has charged us to win Anambra for APC,” he told party members, promising a campaign focused on practical solutions that directly improve the lives of ordinary citizens.
