Kalu Charges Abia Pilgrims to Uphold State’s Image in Israel
Abia State Secretary to Government, Prof. Kenneth Kalu, has urged pilgrims embarking on the 2025 Easter pilgrimage to Israel to remain prayerful, law-abiding, and serve as exemplary ambassadors of the state.
Prof. Kalu gave the counsel during a send-off ceremony at his office, where he received the pilgrims on behalf of the state government. He encouraged them to use the spiritual journey as a time to intercede for Abia State and the nation, while deepening their Christian faith through reflection and commitment to godly principles.
He emphasized the importance of honesty, sincerity, and integrity, reminding the pilgrims that their behavior would reflect both their personal faith and the image of Abia State abroad.
According to Prof. Kalu, Governor Dr. Alex Otti supports the pilgrimage as part of his administration’s commitment to spiritual and moral development. He wished the pilgrims a safe journey and a spiritually enriching experience.
Also speaking at the event, the Chairman of the Christian Pilgrims Welfare Board, Apostle Emmanuel Agomuoh, expressed gratitude to God and Governor Otti for sponsoring the trip, assuring that the pilgrims would uphold the trust placed in them.
In her vote of thanks, Executive Secretary of the Board, Mrs. Chinwe Mike Ihesdindu, lauded the Governor for his support and pledged that the pilgrims would represent Abia State with distinction.
